Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Thore’s interest in dentistry started when she was a child—she was really fascinated by the tiny mirrors! This spark turned into a full-blown passion as the years went by and she learned more about the profession, and she couldn’t be happier where life has taken her.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Thore graduated from The Medical University of South Carolina in 1988. Afterward, she continued her post-secondary training under the supervision of Dr. Sonny Weeks and Dr. Don Brown right here in Raleigh.

She has maintained a commitment to continuing education over the decades to stay on the cutting edge of dentistry, particularly when it comes to veneers and TMJ/jaw pain treatment. This ensures that the care received in her office is provided with the highest level of gentleness and skill.

As a Past President of the Raleigh- Wake County Dental Association, she helped form and promote the current Dental Hygiene Program at Wake Tech Community College. She is still an active supporter of it as well as other dental assistant programs in the area. She believes that quality education is the stepping stone for ensuring our community enjoys optimum oral health. Dr. Thore is also an active member of the American Dental Association and North Carolina Dental Association.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

When she manages to pull herself away from her dental office and patients, you’ll usually find Dr. Thore at her home (which is about five minutes away!) spending quality time with family, and she also likes to stay active by golfing and playing tennis.
